SOSTUR

The Sustainable Network of Rural and Community Tourism in Panama

We provide digital platforms for community-based tourism businesses to share their vision and support the implementation of regenerative tourism strategies to generate additional revenue and opportunities.

We work with local communities to benefit from conservation and nature-based tourism, empowering women and youth to actively participate in the tourism industry.

We support the strengthening and formation of rural and community-based tourism businesses in Panama, in order to promote new sources of employment, value culture and contribute to the sustainability of Panama's natural resources.

COMMUNITY-BASED TOURISM

Adventure travel experiences based on the ownership and self-management of the natural and cultural resources of indigenous peoples, mestizo and Afro-descendant communities, with a focus on social commitment, respect for the environment and equitable distribution of benefits.

"Community-based tourism has become a strategic activity that contributes significantly to the integral development of Panama's tourism-oriented communities, creating equitable economic opportunities and supporting conservation strategies".

TURISMO Regenerativo
