Very close to the turquoise waters of the Panamanian Caribbean is the community of Río Caña, ideal for connecting with nature and your inner world.
Río Caña is a community that has preserved its traditions, especially its dances and its gastronomy, the latter based on fish, tubers and vegetables that they grow themselves.
The star of the cuisine, the dachín, is a typical vegetable of the region, and its leaves are used to prepare a unique salad.
The community of Río Caña has invaluable attractions, such as Escudo de Veraguas Island, home to the Pygmy sloth, a species endemic to this island, Playa Toro, Playa Uvas, Isla Tiburón and Damani Lagoon, a RAMSAR site.
Other activities that you can do on the beaches of the community, is the sighting of sea turtles. The Sea Turtle Conservancy is currently working with the community to conserve and monitor the turtles.

Prior to your arrival, you coordinate the water transportation with the boatmen and guides of the community of Río Caña.
They will be waiting for you at the port of Chiriqui Grande, located in the province of Bocas del Toro. The trip from the port to the community is approximately 2 hours.
The Parents' Club Association and APRORENANM offer two lodging options, a large house with 2 rooms for groups and 4 traditional bohíos for groups of 2 or 4 people.
The food is provided by the Meri Eco-Kiga Association, a group of women from the community who will delight you with the typical gastronomy of the region.
